Power and connectivity work covers the electrical feeds into your cabinets and the physical links out to carriers and other tenants. DataOptix installs and swaps PDUs, balances loads across A and B feeds, orders and terminates cross-connects, and coordinates with the facility's meet-me room and your carriers. It is the plumbing that everything else in the rack depends on.

How it works
From request to sign-off
Step 1: Confirm the requirement
We check available capacity, the facility's ordering process and carrier lead times before committing to a date.
Step 2: Order and install
Circuits and cross-connects are ordered through the operator, then installed, terminated and tested when they are provisioned.
Step 3: Balance and document
Loads are balanced across feeds and phases, then every circuit and cross-connect ID is recorded so future work starts from fact.

Pay as you go carries a 4-hour response SLA. Block-hour customers are dispatched on 2-hour and take priority over ad-hoc requests.

Power and connectivity questions
Can you order cross-connects on our behalf?
Yes, where you have authorised us on your account with the operator. We handle the ordering, chase the provisioning and terminate and test the link when it is delivered.
Do you carry out electrical work directly?
We install and replace PDUs and manage cabinet-level power. Work upstream of the cabinet is the facility's responsibility under their own electrical safety regime, and we coordinate with their engineers rather than working on their infrastructure.
How do you handle A and B feed balancing?
We measure the actual draw on each feed and phase rather than relying on nameplate ratings, then redistribute so that losing either feed leaves the cabinet within capacity on the survivor.
Can you troubleshoot a cross-connect that is not passing traffic?
Yes. We test from your port to the demarcation, prove which side of the boundary the fault sits on and raise it with the operator or carrier with the evidence attached.
