Rack and stack services
Rack and stack is the physical installation of server, storage and network hardware into data centre cabinets. A DataOptix engineer receives the shipment, mounts each device to your elevation drawing, connects power and data, labels every cable and verifies the equipment powers on and is reachable. You get photographs and an as-built record before we leave site.

How it works
From request to sign-off
Step 1: Share the build sheet
Send us the elevation, port map and naming convention. We confirm rack units, power draw and any access requirements before the date.
Step 2: Receive and install
We accept the delivery at the loading bay, check it against the packing list and install to your drawing. Anything that does not match is flagged before we proceed.
Step 3: Verify and document
Every device is powered on and confirmed reachable. You receive photographs, serial numbers and an as-built record the same day.

Pay as you go carries a 4-hour response SLA. Block-hour customers are dispatched on 2-hour and take priority over ad-hoc requests.

Rack and stack questions
Do you need someone from our team on site?
No. Once we have the build sheet and facility access is arranged, our engineer works unaccompanied and reports back with photographs and an as-built record.
Can you accept and store hardware before the install date?
In most facilities yes. We can take delivery, check it against the packing list and hold it in a secure area until the install window. Confirm the arrangement with us when you book, because storage rules vary between operators.
What happens if hardware arrives damaged or incomplete?
We stop, photograph the condition and contact you before installing anything. If the shortfall is a vendor issue we can raise the RMA on your behalf under our RMA and logistics service.
How many racks can you build in a day?
It depends on device density and cabling complexity. As a working figure, one engineer typically completes a full 42U cabinet of standard 1U and 2U servers with structured patching in a day. We confirm a realistic schedule when we see the build sheet.
