Transceiver part number decoder

Transceiver part numbers encode form factor, speed and reach in generic tokens like QSFP28, 100G, SR and LR4. This decoder parses those tokens with rules, maps them to a likely standard, and reports a confidence level. It never guesses and never uses vendor SKU databases.

Paste a part string below. Everything is decoded in your browser.

How this is worked out

Every rule is shown and every match is highlighted. A decoder that guesses is not a tool.

The parser looks for form factors (SFP through OSFP), speeds (1G through 400G) and reach codes (SR, LR, ER, ZR, SR4, LR4, CWDM4, PSM4, DR, DR4, FR, FR4, BiDi, DAC, AOC). Three or more tokens give high confidence. One token gives low.

Vendor part numbers vary. Confirm with the datasheet, and check the switch vendor compatibility matrix for third-party coding restrictions.

Questions

What does this tool do?

This tool helps engineers with transceiver part number decoder. Enter your own figures and everything is calculated in your browser.

Are my figures stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us.

How accurate is it?

It is exactly as accurate as the figures you put in. Treat it as a planning aid, not a precise measurement.

Is it free?

Yes. All DataOptix engineer tools are free with no login, no email gate and no cookies.
